Spirometry is a simple test used to help diagnose and monitor certain lung conditions by measuring how much air you can breathe out in one forced breath. – NHS.uk
Spirometry must only be undertaken by a person confident and competent after attending a Spirometry course and being signed off in practice. Spirometry technique should be reviewed annually and peer checked by a suitable clinician. Annual updates either face 2 face or online should be accessed. You do not need to have Association for Respiratory Technology & Physiology (ARTP) certification to practice spirometry.
