Leeds GP Confederation: August Newsletter

Posted on:

Following the decision in October 2024 to pause new referrals to the LYPFT ADHD service, the Leeds GP Confederation was commissioned to establish and implement the Neurodevelopment Support Service in partnership with the LYPFT and ICB.

At the start of the service, there were 4,606 patients on the Adult ADHD Assessment waiting list. During the period of the service a total of 1,477 patients were contacted by our team.

A total of 319 patients executed their ‘right to choose’, with 75 choosing to remain on the waiting list and 234 being identified as now living outside of the Leeds area.

During the period of operation there were zero complaints about the service and no incidents reported via DATIX. A total of 415 patients responded to a survey where they were asked to rate the service out of 5.

A total of 413 patients who responded to the survey rated the service as 5 out of 5 with many positive comments and feedback shared.

The Confed would like to formally thank The Street Lane Practice team for their contribution in delivering the service. The Service Support Officer role was fundamental in the service success.

On July 15th, the national GP Survey results were released, we have compared these with our patient experience scores across Enhanced Access, Healthy Minds, Community Dermatology and NHS Health Checks and are pleased to have outperformed national scores.

As part of the NHS Health Check programme, we delivered a community engagement event at the Foodshare Food Bank.

During the two-hour event, we:

•Completed 34 blood pressure checks

•Delivered 1 full NHS Health Check

•Engaged directly with those attending, offering personalised advice

We’d like to thank all staff and volunteers who supported the event, along with 4 members of the Leeds GP Confederation team.

This month we are thrilled to celebrate the graduation of Jane Sadler, Chief Operating Officer. Jane has graduated with a First in BA (Hons) Business Management Professional (Executive) in Health and Social Care. Join us in wishing a big congratulations to Jane on this wonderful achievement!
