Our refresher training is designed to refresh your knowledge and skills and update you on the latest clinical or legislative improvements. Completing this course will help you meet revalidation requirements to maintain your registration.
- Understand the pathophysiology of Diabetes.
- Explain what Diabetes is, the types, and the population groups it affects.
- Recognise the symptoms of Diabetes.
- Explain the impact of Diabetes on an individual’s quality of life.
- Explain the key diagnostic tools used in Diabetes
- Understanding how to diagnose Diabetes in practice
- Explain a range of pharmacological (medicine-based) and non-pharmacological (lifestyle-based) pathways used in Diabetes. Reviewing formularies and why they are created.
- Be able to signpost patients to information available.
- Feeling confident in suggesting treatment options in practice and the reasoning behind them.
- Understanding when to refer to specialist practitioners.
Complete a full annual review and follow up as required including all the elements of good Diabetes care including but not exhaustive of 9 Care processes; Lifestyle advice; Medication management through patients’ choice and empowerment; Follow up/monitoring; Vaccination; Eye and foot annual checks.
