Jim Barwick

Jim trained as a general nurse in Leeds holding a number clinical roles. The power of a therapeutic relationship with a patient and the energy you get from working in a team has stayed with Jim throughout his career. This continued into hospital management and then, as a commissioner in Kirklees, Jim led a number of  programmes with a focus on change & innovation.

More recently Jim was instrumental in establishing a social enterprise that provides community care in Kirklees being the Director of Transformation.

Jim is now the CEO of the Leeds GP Confederation. Jim has a passion for the wellbeing of people in our communities and connecting all of the services that matter in people’s lives. Jim has a deep knowledge of the Health and care system and believes in the power of trust, collaboration and understanding how sets of circumstances create unique opportunities for improvement.
